not that i wasnt interested.. but i thought it was kinda lame that they picked this episode of "hate" to spawn this huge thing... when there are brutal murders in other countries every day becasue of hate for another person, and nobody cares about htat

yes, davis is a utopian bubble, katie. that's why there was a march. because they've never seen anything worse. no they don't understand what a real hate crime is, people can actually go about being different here without fearing for their lives. but how can you call davis a bigoted town for not understanding? i think it's just the opposite, it is a bubble so against and isolated from such bigotry that this vandalism was a big thing. but people here are fighting for aids, they are fighting for rwanda, they are fighting as best as they know how. i don't remember anyone giving whether or not the meat they ate had been killed inhumanely in san francisco. davis is aware, and if you go downtown, and look at the people rasing money to try and stop these problems. davis is a place where people actually stop and donate their own cash to fun doctors abroad. tell me, what would a march do to solve these problems abroad? does Rwanda care if Davis has a march for them? there are much more productive ways to show support. i find this whole

OOooohhhh that was the last straw considering for the last month I have been WORKING MY FUCKING ASS OFF to organize all the charity for RND at PCC, which happens to all go to Africa. Don't tell me I don't do my part. I'm the only one doing my part.

What side of the bed did you wake up on this morning? because that was jsut pissy and bitchy and not neccesary. i would say a tone more except that Vic already said all i was going to say and in a very similar way so i wont repeat it. but Katie its not your right to pass judgment on something that you no hardly anything about, no ones saying you dont do your part. but its because of all the marches and such that we have in davis that keeps such hate out. if it wasnt for the fact that people here were aware and cared then we would be experiencing a lot of hate every day. so fucking shut up if your just going to be a self righteous bitch about stuff that you dont know shit about!!!! sure it was unimportant in the ways of the world, but if you were hear you would have acted just as I and a bunch of other people did.
