My folks have been in town this week again. This time was nice though since we did have others joining us. Tuesday night my cousin Tracie joined us all for dinner at Bailey's. She's so sweet and thoughtful-she brought me a bottle of Vampire chardonnay and one of Zombie Zin. How cute is that?? My folks met Jason and like him, so that's great(I'm not even thinking of subjecting that sweet man to my sister or uncle Fred for a looooong time). Too bad my brother couldn't meet all of us for a meal or something. I miss him.
No idea what to do for Halloween yet. I still have all my stuff for my zombie prom queen costume(I'd have to make a sash that says prom queen on it though since ppl are morons and I don't feel like explaining the outfit). I could get a hat and do the pirate wench thing too, since I need to work on that outfit anyway. IDK-we'll see.
The Scream awards were on Spike the other night-a bit disappointed in their music selections. Who TF is that Curly(sp?) chick? If they were going for a gothy/cabaret act, why didn't they go with Dresden Dolls or Voltaire? Voltaire should be there anyway. There are more bands that fall into that category I'm sure-plus they can always go with metal since it's featured highly in horror film soundtracks(oh yeah….and it ROCKS!). Also-I was very disappointed in the Smashing Pumpkins. Maybe I just am not fond of the new song, but it just wasn't great. In their defense a bit, the sound wasn't great either, but that happens when you play outdoors in a wooded canyon in California. It was fun to see Tim Burton get honored, as well as seeing Frank Miller get to present. Could've used some more comic book stuff, but it's nice that there's even an awards show to begin with for these genres-even lovelier that they put them together-the ones where you get a lot of crossover fandoms anyway. I think Stan Lee signed a deal with the devil-he hasn't aged since the first time I met him in '94. Kevin Smith appears to have eaten Seth Rogan's babyfat.
My cat just loves men….he's such a whore! He is starting to settle down a little bit though. The claw covers are still on and doing well. It turns out they last about a month before they start falling off and need replacing. Well worth it. Unless said claw covers fall off while you're off for the weekend and you come home to some scratches on your new sofa.

The seminar got out a bit early but I found myself writing little notes to keep myself awake. On the way there I stopped at 7-11 for some energy drinks and got 2 cans of something called RockStar-not bad tasting, though it's best ice cold. It did keep me awake for almost all of it.
