Worse than the total agony of being in love?

Feels like it’s been awhile since a real entry that wasn’t a survey, so here it is…..
I have a ton of artsy/creative projects to do at home( thanks to JM actually-and his ADHD).
-in 1990 I had a sketch done of me at the Ren Faire where I’m a sorceress. I found a Xeroxed copy of it(the original got lost in one of many moves in the early 90’s)and had 3 enlarged copies made of it and plan to color it with pencils(I have a large ziplok freezerbag full of colored pencils)since my bedroom is medeival and who doesn't enjoy a porttrait of themselves at 18 forever hanging on the wall? OK, maybe Oscar Wilde.
-JM has molds and he made 2 for me in the remaining plaster he had in the house. One is of Green Man and the other is a skull. He let me pick some leather scraps to make a bandana and an eyepatch to make him piratey for my living room. He even put hooks in them so they can be hung on the wall. I just need to paint those. I’ve got some watercolors.
-I had a fountain on my desk that I haven’t used in over a year and had forgotten all about. We took it out and mixed shells with the rocks and put in 2 rum drinking pirates and a large skull that he’d picked up(in a gas station of all places)and removed the glass lantern from around the water. It looks way cooler!
-JM got me 2 photo albums and a binder with blank plastic sheets. I loathe the term ‘scrapbooking’ because of the soccer mom connotations with it and how cooky they get about it(Have you seen these women fighting over a sheet of designed paper or stickers at the craft store? Scary!), but that is what it will be. Collages of memories: pics, lots of concert tix/autographs, travel brochures from places I’ve been, etc.
So yeah….lots of little projects to keep me busy on weeknights at home(I can do most of this while I’m online IMing ppl too!).

The cat’s mean-ness is really worrying me and I think the cure is to get him a playmate. He constantly scratches/bites me even if I’m not touching him. He’s started coming over to me while I’m at my desk to bite/scratch me unprovoked. The neighbor downstairs has 2 kitties….maybe I can have 2 kitties too. Besides, it would be awesome to have one that likes a good snuggle instead of one that is merely a food whore. I’m not kidding-he is only nice to me when I have food-this makes him a whore.
Almost forgot-JM also got Ash a covered litterbox with a door on it because of all the little he’d toss out. Ash didn’t like it at first, so I took the door off and now he’s cool with it. There’s even a mat to step on that releases any litter stuck in his paws before he tracks it in the apartment.

Speaking of apartments, the neighbor across the hall(the one with the new baby that I testified in court for after her ex stalked her in our building)has been super nice lately. She is home with the baby all the time so to stave boredom she cooks. She brought over banana bread and a bowl of dirty rice with andouille
sausage. YUMMMMM! I felt obliged to send something in return with her bowl the rice was in, so I gave her some one pot sample size bags of flavored coffees I got at the holidays. IDK how she pays the bills if she’s not working-she’s got a 4 month old and a 6 year old that goes to special school because he’s autistic. Maybe welfare or child support payments? Damn...........she makes a wicked hot bowl of dirty rice(I'm having right now for lunch).
I stubbed my right pinkie toe Saturday night....in a spectacularly embarassing way: on the edge of a matress.....while standing on it....with the full force of all of my weight slamming that matress into the space between the pinkie toe and the next one over. So much for being graceful. Thank goodness it was dark. It was kind of numb the rest of the night but in the morning was swollen and by Monday morning it was purple. It's feeling a bit better now. It's not numb anymore and it's less purpley today. So jsut a severe sprain(& totally worth it).
Still have from Netflix right now: Pirates of the Great Salt Lake, Duct Tape Forever, and In Bruges(and about 10 hours of unwatched stuff in the Tivo).
Just downloaded Firefox last night since I have dsl. LOVE the fox! I still haven't even customized it yet.

Been a bit over a week since my last one….
I’m doing MUCH, MUCH better this week!!! I’m totally over
it. We’re still buds, and it’s not like I haven’t been getting offers this
whole time-offers I did not take, because I'm not skanky like that(thank yous to the ppl that cheered me up-esp Justin, Ben & Jerry).
My appetite’s mostly back. I slept in my bed part of last night, rather than
all night on the couch where I’ve been sleeping every night with the tv on for
company. Haven’t had time really to watch my Netflix stuff since I was out of
town last weekend in Bloomington/Springfield visiting Elaine. Speaking of that,
I had an amazing time!!! There’s some fun pics of it at my Facebook account-but
I’ll post some of them here too this week.
Mom & dad are in town for a business trip-last night it
was just mom & I for dinner at Bailey’s. I had a raspberry peach fizz martini(yum!)before
dinner and got a bit lit. Mom didn’t mind-she knows I’ve had a rough couple
weeks.
I have to have a fatty tissue tumor removed in 2 weeks
and I was freaking out about it since it
had gotten bigger/pinker. Anyway-it will be a 3 inch teeny scar-I’ll be fine.
I’m still a wee bit scared though.
The Ramones + The Simpsons = Crazy Awesome! Friday night I’m
going to see a Ramones cover band that does all Simpsons lyrics. You gotta love
a band with a song called “Stupid Sexy Flanders”! They’re called The Hired Goons. I SO cannot wait!!!!! I’ll let you know how that goes….
I’m really tired of winter already. I’d like a vacation
someplace warm, but they’re planning on sending us all home an hour earlier
almost every day at work instead of laying ppl off. This scares me. I know I am
valuable because I am not afraid of the computer and I know how to use it(my
coworkers aren’t as proficient), but still….worrying.
Jim was over the other night. There was mail that arrived
for him and I didn’t want it. It looked important so I decided to be nice and
let him know. He told me he was really sick last month with lockjaw!!!! He got
tetanus from using a razor that had a bit of rust on it to shave!! Other than
that he’s been ok-he says he’s not dating and seemed surprised I’ve been doing
as much as I have(relax-I’ve only had 2 short term bfs in the last year- we’re
all still friends, which is cool-my point is that I haven’t been out whoring it
up). I went 2 years with no physical affection of any type and you’re surprised
I am dating?!?! Amazing…..
I e-filed my taxes last night and will be getting a refund
of about half of what a regular paycheck would be. Guess who’s finally getting
a full size mattress-poss a queen, but I already have a full headboard and
footboard that I painted to match my room???
Whatever’s left over gets put into new sheets and household
expenses. Jim tipped me off to a good deal he got that included free
shipping/set up(I think he got a queen for $275). I can keep the twin mattress
for guests.
OMG-2 hours left……am dying of boredom. My coworker will come
back from her lunch and find me on the floor with a chalk outline around me and
police tape across the door. Cause of death: boredom(I have no internet access
at my desk-the pc in the library does though!). Gah! Am barely able to stay
awake at desk. Must not stay up til 2am again tonight & get up at 5:30 for
work the next morning. Meh-I’ll be too excited to sleep tonight. We’ll see. I
still have to straighten the house, do laundry, make the bed…..
It’s like Facebook is the new Myspace. Weird the ppl I’m
finding in there. But kind of cool. It’s a bit less anonymous, but it’s still
good. Ppl I didn’t even know cared about me have sent me friend requests. It’s
nice to get to know ppl you went to school with that you didn’t get a chance to
know because you traveled in different social circles. I was different, and in
high school, different is social suicide.

There’s a meeting upstairs I could be in, but I’m having a
hard enough time staying awake as it is. Besides, meetings suck. They always
last about a million times longer than they need to be. I think they only have
them to make it look like our opinion matters, because at the end after we’ve
said what we think, the management just tells us to do what they originally
said anyway. I’ll save myself an hour of yapping-I’ve got my MP3 player here
anyway with some kickass tunes.
Just took a walk to the library and medical records. Checked
mail /myspace/Facebook and picked up old charts.
20 minutes to go. Can run to bathroom and lock doors to kill
time til 3.

How did you feel when you woke up?
Sleepy, ticked that someone woke me up early on my day off when I'd been up late, but not really angry because it was my dad calling me to see if I wanted apple pancakes at Original Pancake House. The pancakes won.

It wouldn't bother me if anyone did, but I'm sure that will happen as soon as I doze off for that nap in a bit.
