Am finally calm enough to write in here exactly what happened on Wednesday this week, having spent about 36 hours in a rather shakey and near-tearful-at-times state
( Read more... )
I'm still at a loss as to what to say here that will be constructive. You are the last person on Earth I'd ever think capable of shaking or otherwise physically harming a child. I'm furious that you have been slandered like this - and that's what it is. I very much doubt that I'd have the courage to go back, but I hope you do and I hope they eventually, somehow, realise just how wrong they were and feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
Thinking of you. A lot. Wish there was something I could do.
((( hug )))
Edit to add my utter disgust at the group leader's response. :
It's sad how ready we are to think the worst of each other. Also, if the group organiser's response to a situation like this is to pray, I think that he needs to consider another line of work. Perhaps as a missionary.
I think that you conducted yourself in a manner that is beyond reproach, FWIW.
The trouble is the bloke is a church outreach worker, as the playgroup takes place at an evangelical church. He's usually about, but he's not officially the leader. He said he'd get the leader to ring me, as she wasn't there at the time, but I've heard nothing since. I'd rather have him as a missionary though - means he might get out of there before I slap him one!
The latest is that it turns out it was more than the blonde woman spreading the slander (my mate C heard a dark haired woman telling anyone who'd listen too, which worries me a great deal). And that the group leader still hasn't run me.
Hopefully, me, C, and our friends L and K are going along next Wednesday and showing that there's strength in our number. Whether I jump on a chair and talk to them all is a different matter though. Still not sleeping at all well because of it all.

Everyone here has said pretty well what I've been thinking as well.
We all know that you'll do what is right, for you and for Nushie.
