so I've decided to try Nanowrimo for the first time. I'm easing myself into it by writing a fanfiction novel rather than original fiction. I really wanted to do original fiction but the piece I want to write isn't quite at a stage where I can sit down and start writing it. Whoa! Excellent so far. I like your AU premise--Remus can do some magic but never went to Hogwarts. He didn't seem surprised by Sirius' use of magic so I guess he learned about magic-use somehow--will you explain that in later chapters?

Your dialogue suits the characters as JKR wrote them, and is original (hard to do with something as well-used as mate-hunting at a party). Re: description, you use just enough to really draw me into the story, half-feeling like I was there at the party (sort of in Remus' persona, I tend to identify with him).

I can't wait to read more!

Thanks so much, and the explanation is coming in part three which I should be posting tommorow and will continue to show up here and there in the things Remus can and can't do with magic. Thanks so much for all your comments, I tend to identify with Remus as well (hence most of my writing taking his POV, heh). Hope you like the next part! ♥

Oh, wows, I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of this. I do like the AU bit too; interesting that Remus and Sirius haven't been buddies all through school.
