After pushing (which for me is extremely unusual), I was able to move up the appointment originally scheduled for mid-January with the orthopedic specialist and got

This alarms me somewhat: "Once studied, it turns out I have a torn labrum, one of the tendons holding the femur in place is torn, there is cartilage damage, and "wear and tear" deterioration to the bone."
And I don't know that I should ask the next question, but I have to. Forgive me. I'm not trying to be an alarmist, but does that mean you're going to have to have a hip replacement?

Yay.
The bad news is that the most likely best solution is surgery where bones are cut and re-assembled. At this point, I'm in enough pain (and seriously sick and tired of messing around with this) to be prepared to do the procedure myself. I have Google, a Swiss Army knife, a few pulleys and a sewing kit; how hard can it be? ;D
