It looks like this hip thing might turn out to be kind of an adventure, so I'm going to try to post a little of it for posterity. Or my posterior. *rim shot

I'm glad to hear they moved things up. I hated that you were in so much pain just trying to make it through a day. I hope the shot helps! ~crosses fingers and sends good wishes your way~
I have you to thank for getting things moved up, I think ~ I wound up crying (actually sobbing) to the poor scheduling assistant so much that -- as you guessed might happen -- she probably forced the surgeon to look at my charts. If I was good at faking such things, I would've done that weeks ago.
I'm sorry that it took sobbing into the phone to get you what you needed, but it would be hard to dismiss out of hand. I'd like to believe that most people do care and wouldn't want anyone to suffer if they could help it. ~hugs~
That was very good advice. We're brought up not to open up and be emotional with strangers, unless it's to be angry with them. And that doesn't really move things forward, does it. When I had my (completely puerile issue compared with yours) problem with FedEx, they did nothing until I actually dissolved into tears.
Adding my hugs (and prayers!) here - so glad that things are moving forward for you Kate. x
I've heard good things about the steroid shots, if they don't become routine. Not to make an inappropriate comparison, but I had a dog with hip displasia, and the steroid shots were miraculous... at first. You won't be on them longterm, so that's fine.
Thank you for your prayers ~ prayers are one of the few things I'm willing to covet.
I'm all over the canine comparisons -- I've always been as loyal as a dog -- so no need to apologize. Woof!
I've had some short-term relief from less, uh, invasive steroid shots in the past, so I have high hopes for Monday's shot (it will be routed directly into the joint). Yay!
I've had good luck with steroid shots in the past ~ hopefully, the more direct placement planned on Monday will buy me even more relief. Thank you, Wilhelm Roentgen, for discovering X-rays!
I'm really sorry - that sounds just miserable. I am glad there's a plan in place and have my fingers crossed that the injection helps and helps quickly.
