Sorry; don't know you, haven't read your journal so I have no idea how long you've been dealing with this or how much you've tried. But have you ever tried Maxalt or a migraine preventative like a calcium channel blocker?

My hubby suffered from crippling migraines for years, and finally he's found a preventative which cut down the incidences of his migraines drastically, and Maxalt, which is not a pain killer but a vasoconstrictor which forces the blood to stop engorging the blood vessels in your head, and his life has totally turned around. It's like a miracle.

Sorry if this is obnoxious; I just feel for you as the spouse of a migraine sufferer.

My main problem with standard meds is that I am allergic to sulfas, and most of the migraine perscriptives (Imitrex etc.) are based on sulfa components. That and it appears that most of my doctors think I can handle it anyways.

I did find a natural (mostly) cocktail that appears to usually work for me, like within 30 minutes! I take a 1500 mg Soy Lecithin cap + 250mg B-complex + 1-2 Gingko Biloba (depending on manufacturer dose recs) + 2 Ibuprofen. Strangely enough, it works.

Sounds weird, but it appears to ease inflammation and bloodflow issues for me. But then, I also have severe nosebleed issues and such on top of all this. Maybe mine are caused by something different than his. My vessels tend to constrict and burst, so ease of bloodflow is more of a concern than preventing engorging.

I"ll check that med out though!
