Costuming win

Found a skirt at Target.  It was actually in the girls section, with the school uniform stuff, a size 18 or 20.  I was sure it wouldn't fit, but I decided to give it a go and try it on anyway.  Success!  The only issue with it now is that it's polyester, which is apparently a bitch to dye.  But yay for theater people, lonelyflutterby is ask a costuming person she ( Read more... )

Hooray! I haven't had a chance to look yet but am very encourage by your find. Have fun with the dyeing-here is a link to properly dyeing polyester (not for the faint of heart http://www.prochemical.com/directions/ProsperseImmersionPolyester.htm

Another option is fabric crayons http://www.pburch.net/dyeing/example28.shtml
I have never done a skirt but made a white polyester shirt a rainbow colored one using this method-I not sure how clean an effect you could get. In my project it didn't matter as crazy was the requirement. This is iron on and much easier than dyeing.

I never even thought about dying a skirt that I find. I like it though, it's awesome :)
