(New Feature: Moments You May Have Missed)

There was a jumble of indistinct male voices, a silence, and then, without warning, the unmistakable swish and thud of an axe.

Hermione swayed on the spot.

"They did it!" she whispered to Harry. "I d -- don't believe it -- they did it!"
PoA, pg. 331, Ch. 16

But Black's free hand found Harry's throat --

"No," he hissed, "I've waited too long --"

The fingers tightened, Harry choked, his glasses askew.

Then he saw Hermione's foot swing out of nowhere.

"I trusted you," [Harry] shouted at Lupin, his voice wavering out of control, "and all this time you've been his friend!"

"You're wrong," said Lupin. "I haven't been Sirius's friend, but I am now -- Let me explain. . . ."

"NO!" Hermione screamed. "Harry, don't trust him, he's been helping Black get into the castle, he wants you dead too -- he's a werewolf!"
PoA, pg. 345, Ch. 17

Harry set off at a run [after Sirius], Hermione right behind him.

"Expecto --" Hermione whispered, "expecto -- expecto --"

But she couldn't do it. The dementors were closing in, barely ten feet from them. They formed a solid wall around Harry and Hermione, and were getting closer. . . . A thin wisp of silver escaped his wand and hovered like mist before him. At the same moment, Harry felt Hermione collapse next to him. He was alone . . . completely alone.

In the bed to [Harry]'s right lay Hermione. Moonlight was falling across her bed. Her eyes were open too. She looked petrified, and when she saw that Harry was awake, pressed a finger to her lips. . .
PoA, pg. 388, Ch. 21

"How's Ron?" said Harry and Hermione together. . . Harry jumped up out of bed; Hermione had done the same. (They have a bit of a habit of saying/doing the same thing at the same time or thinking the same thought. As you'll see later down the list, they have similar instincts.) "Minister, listen, please," Hermione said; she had hurried to Harry's side. . .
PoA, pg. 388-9, Ch. 21

"Harry!"

Hermione was tugging his sleeve. . .

"Peeves!" Harry muttered, grabbing Hermione's wrist. "In here!"

They tore into a deserted classroom to their left just in time. Peeves seemed to be bouncing along the corridor in boisterous good spirits, laughing his head off.

"Oh, he's horrible," whispered Hermione, her ear to the door.
PoA, pg. 417, Ch. 22

"You don't think he's . . . hurt, or anything, do you?" said Hermione uneasily.

"No," said Harry at once. . . (Note: Harry reassures her rather quickly that Hagrid is okay even though he seems unsure himself . . . sort of like he assures Krum that he isn't dating Hermione. Suuuure.)
OoP, pg. 202, Ch. 11

She's evil, [Harry] thought, as he climbed a staircase to the seventh floor, she's an evil, twisted, mad, old --
OoP pg. 271, Ch. 13

"What was it like?" Harry and Hermione asked together.
OoP, pg. 311, Ch. 15

Harry did not speak to Hermione all through Charms, but when they entered Transfiguration he forgot his anger... (Note: Notice how Harry easily gets over his anger with Hermioe but will hold a fight with Ron for days at a time and not forgive him.)
OoP, pg. 319, Ch. 15

(Harry:) "I nearly always had help [with everything] --" (Note: --from Hermione. PS/SS: Hermione made sure Harry could get back and through again before fighting Quirell, CoS: "pipes" is all I need to say, PoA: She helped Harry help Sirius escape from Azkaban, GoF: She helped Harry learn spells he needed and stayed late at night to help him with his taks, OoP: Harry and Hermione saved each other several times back and forth here, but I think there was a deeper meaning somewhere. When Harry realizes he's become reckless allowing himself to enter the MoM on pure instincts [which were wrong unfortunately] and indirectly harming Ron, Hermione, Luna, Ginny and Neville. . . It's Hermione's voice speaking to him.)
OoP, pg. 327, Ch. 15

Hermione had tears of fury in her eyes now.

"You hag, you evil hag!" she whispered, as Umbridge walked toward Pansy Parkinson. "I know what you're doing, you awful, twisted, vicious --" (Note: Also notice that Harry and Hermione use similar words to describe Umbridge; "hag", "evil" and "twisted".)
OoP, pg. 448, Ch. 21

(Hermione:) "The way some people can see [thestrals] and some can't! I wish I could."

"Do you?" Harry asked her quietly.

"Oh Harry -- no, of course I don't -- that was a really stupid thing to say --"

"It's okay," he said quickly, "don't worry. . . ." (Note: Again, he easily forgives her.)
OoP, pg. 450, Ch. 21

"[Hagrid]'s not asking us to do anything unless he gets chucked out and that might not even happen --"

"Oh come off it, Harry!" said Hermione angrily, stopping dead in her tracks so hat people behind her had to swerve to avoid her. "Of course he's going to be chucked out and to be perfectly honest, after what we've just seen, who can blame Umbridge?"

There was a pause in which Harry glared at her, and her eyes filled slowly with tears.

"You didn't mean that," said Harry quietly.

"No . . . well . . . all right . . . I didn't," she said, wiping her eyes angrily. "But why does he have to make life so difficult for himself -- for us?"

"I dunno --" (Note: Moment COMPLETELY destroyed by the 'Weasley is our King' song. God! It's like herpes; It ruins everything!)
OoP, pg. 701, Ch. 30

"But . . . Harry, think about this," said Hermione, taking a step toward him...

"They're not normal dreams!" Harry shouted in her face, standing up and taking a step closer to her in turn. He wanted to shake her. (Note: And possibly kiss her? This moment oozes with tension.)
OoP, pg. 732, Ch. 32

"Get over here," muttered Hermione, tugging at Harry's wrist and pulling him back into a recess where the ugly stone head of a midieval wizard stood muttering to itself on a column. "Are -- are you sure you're okay, Harry? You're still very pale. . . ."
