There are quite a few people out there with a charming online personality that refuses to shine in their real life. Being a faceless voice does have its charm in some ways.

I can definitely relate to this. I know I'm not a flat, dull person, really, but in interpersonal conversation I definitely come off that way. I've been pen palling lately. Writing a letter offers the same ability to communicate freely without being face-to-face, but it's much more personal than screen time.
