We'd known each other for years.  Decades really.

It'd gone from co-workers to friends.  From nights out after work to talking about kids and schools and getting old.

I didn't think anything of it when I asked him to work on a project for work and he asked if I wanted to go with him on it.

Ugh. How awful!

I think you may be having trouble letting go of this because it was such a violation of trust.

He violated your trust in making that proposition (especially as a married man, especially as one married to one of your friends), and he violated his wife's as well. And the whole thing must have felt like an assault, coming out of the blue and as such a violation of trust and boundaries.

Know that you did nothing wrong, that it was all him and his sleaziness, and forgive any part of yourself you're tempted to blame. *hugs*
