I've been hearing so much in the BBC Sherlock fandom about Maurice and how good it is, as well as posting icons of a surprising pretty Rupert Graves, and so naturally I wandered off to youtube and took a peek and.... That movie is beyond lovely. The acting is superb and so is the cinematography. Have you read the book? The book is just marvelous and the film truly does it justice.

Rupert was so beautiful then, and he just gets better as he gets older. Rowr!

I haven't but as I said it's now next on my rampant "go forth and obsess" list so I will have it in my hand within a week, I really want to get both the book and the dvd now :D

Oh, that is a lovely movie, but I think I enjoyed the book even more - seeing a little more what goes on in their heads. It's been years since I read that. Now I want to read it too! Too much work to do, alas.

I have an afternoon off on Saturday so will try the library and the bookshop, I'm very looking forward to reading the book now, they are almost always better and everyone's raving about it :D

It's fantabulous! Also Rupert Graves sports a rather wobbly west country accent which amuses me greatly - but it's VERY good, do not let occasional cockney-farmerness disuade you (to be fair I think he only drops it once)
