So I'm in Rome, which simultaneously feels utterly normal and familiar and incomprehensibly strange. The funny thing is, it's entirely likely that you'll have an intense sense of homecoming in just a few days. Home is one of the most flexible notions I know. It is, of course, rivaled by love. Or maybe it's just a form of love.

Now I'm wondering why there aren't more feminist women-only hostels. Women travel alone in other countries, too.
