It's 12:30 in the morning and I had a lovely last day in Rome, including dinner at the Centro, but now I'm nervous and freaking out about tomorrow-- I reorganized my stuff as much as possible, and confirmed as best I could that the baggage rules for my flight are actually 2 bags at under 23k each, but I'm not totally certain that my bags are under ( Read more... )

*hugs* Thank you for your Italy advice! I have begun reading the phrasebook we go, and I'm hoping that I can just go around speaking Spanish with an Italian accent and some hand-waving and be understood, if mocked ;)

I'm sure your trip will go fine. I shall wave out the window of our transatlantic flight at you!

Love and good wishes!!!! All it takes is time to get even heavy suitcases up and down.
And, there is NO POINT in worrying about how much your trip has cost. You enjoyed it. You will continue to enjoy the memories. Living well is worth something in itself.

What an amazing several months you've had. Get ready for the culture shock on re-entry! It's perfectly normal, but they don't call it "shock" for nothing. (I find some guides to re-entry shock online but none as helpful or encouraging as the brief guide to re-entry in the Rough Guide to First-Time Around the World.)
