Previously for the Charles family: There had been tension in the Charles household when Candence found herself struggling to reconcile her own forfeited political dreams with her husband's new found relaxation after losing the battle to become Mayor of Newhaven. Aw... what a terrible thing to happen! At least Augustus left a legacy in Newhaven through his sons (Guy even inherited the weird profile:p).
I see it's the kitchen with the panoramic view we all complimented you for, is it possible that poor Cadence was too busy admiring the landscape and not focused enough on her stove, not to point fingers or anything? :p

I know, I couldn't believe it :( And yep, Guy certainly inherited his profile, I'm not sure how Thomas lucked out with his cute button nose ;)

And it may very well be the view, I was flicking back through older updates and Augustus' sister Bronwyn managed to set fire to the kitchen too...I might have to install curtains :P

Aw, Augustus. Poor Charles family. That was some fire, taking out practically the whole kitchen! And this last pic of young Guy crying with the portrait of his grandfather Guy (right?) in the background is very poignant.

And I was planning to do my happy dance and everything at being all caught up! In fact, I didn't realise I was all caught up, your updates are such pleasant reads. Even with the occasional tragedy I get the feeling that things are going to work out just fine in Newhaven. Wow, Week Ten. Quite the accomplishment!

It was tragic :( And I hadn't actually noticed Guy (you were right) looking over Guy (his grandson), that is poignant!

And thank you for such lovely feedback, and your effort to catch up with all the updates, that is quiet the achievement itself. I'm confident Newhaven's future is bright :)

Oh my gosh -- what a shock! :O Poor Augustus! At least he died like a hero, protecting his family.

I can hardly wait to see what happens in the next round. It's ironic that Candence may have to focus on her career, again, just as she was finding satisfaction in being a mother. And I'm sure that a family-oriented Sim like Guy will be a strong support to his mum and brother, but there may be times when he has to struggle against his inclination to have fun. I'll be rooting for the Charles family!

It was, I had a hard time saving :( But you're absolutely right, he did die a hero, which is poignant after spending most of his life trying to please his father, who would have no doubt done the same thing for his family!

I'm too interested to see where Candence goes from here. Currently, while playing other families, she's been turning up as if looking for company. I don't think she'll be content to be mourning at home for ever!
