You should totally come to the convention! It's going to be an absolute blast! And it's the first time we've had a convention in the US in 4 years; who knows when we'll have another one here, let alone one so close by! All lovers of books are welcome, whether you're a pro at BookCrossing or just getting started!

Incidentally, we've also got a really fun local BookCrossing group which meets every month in Virginia, DC, or Maryland (we rotate because we have members from all over). We have big book buffets/exchanges, trips to local book festivals to give away books, games, book release walks, talks about books, and just hang out and socialize.
