I can still have moments of complete loss of anything to say to boys who aren't musicians. There's the odd one I can still talk to, but the sad truth is that most boys who aren't musicians just aren't into music in the same all-encompassing way I am and it just makes them seem shallow. Also, there's the occasional asshole who tries to patronise me because I'm a girl, how could I ever know anything about music? Wankers. (Sorry, rant.)

Courtney still serves as a reminder that I don't have to be pretty and compliant. The world still makes sure I need that reminder.
