There's a McDonald's commercial on the radio now with someone wittering on about someone who cured their "intellectual snobbery" with McD's cheap lattes. "I don't watch documentaries anymore -- now I watch reality television! Thanks, McDonald's!"
It sends me into a blind red murderous rage each time I hear it.

For some funny reason, ignorance is held to be the equal of hard-won, hard-earned knowledge.
It strikes me as curious that we often see scientists attending artistic performances, but artists do not seem to attend scientific lectures. Yet who is it who gets described as dull and close-minded, only seeing their one narrow little discipline?
