Has anyone verified whether the teacher is involved?

In a backhanded way, yes. I have it on good authority that she informed all members of the class today that they were not to go to Sarah's blog and post.

So, either she is telepathic and knew all about it without actually being told, or she started it and discovered that the bloody shreds littering the floor and the positively appalling showing her darlings made only made her look worse.

The evidence is enough to convince a jury, if it should come to that. I sincerely hope it doesn't.

I had so hoped they would take me up on my offer to "discuss" the matter with them over on my own LJ if they'd come out from behind their cloak of anonymity. Gee, imagine how shocked and surprised I was when no one took me up on my offer.

More seriously, I have no respect for a teacher who tries to use his or her students this way. And, truth be told, I have even less respect for these kids because they are old enough to know better. Reading the posts that Sarah has had to deal with, I thank goodness I'm no longer teaching in a public school classroom. If I were, there would be violence if I discovered any of my students had been acting like this idiots have been.

I'll have to check out Sarah's journal. Sounds like a most interesting interaction, sort of a like when you gut a fish after it's managed to nibble your toe, anonymously.
