Stole this from taylorgibbsPost the first sentence (or three) from every WIP you're currently working on, even if it's very short. Then invite people to ask questions about your WIPs. With any luck, you'll get talking about writing, and the motivation to take that WIP one step closer to completion will appear as if by magic ( Read more... )

Tony's Inspiration kateri_e January 28 2012, 16:50:26 UTC
The first time it happened was the first case they ever worked together. When the young Detective ran out of the storage room before he was even zipped up Gibbs had a heart stopping moment where he wondered if he had come on too strong, but the Baltimore detective had seemed to like it. Before Gibbs could work himself into a panic though DiNozzo was poking his head back through the doorway urging Gibbs to hurry because he had figured it out. In the chaos that followed Gibbs never dwelled on the exact sequence of events that led to the solving of that first case, in fact the sex and the solving were distinct events in his mind ( ... )

Rules kateri_e January 28 2012, 16:52:39 UTC
Tony tried very hard to live by the rules, though not everyone in his life saw it that way. The problem was choosing whose rules to live by. For his whole life he had been bound by rules from multiple sources, most often over lapping and sometime contrary. When that happened and he had to choose is when the problems began. They had resulted in at different times dismissal from two different boarding schools, his father refusing to support him financially, two sports injuries in college, being encouraged to leave the Philadelphia Police Department, and most recently the probably destruction of the most important personal and professional relationship Tony had ever had not to mention possibly his career in Federal Law Enforcement.

"huh" Tony said crossing his arms and staring at the man in front of him.

"What?" Logan asked, finally not being able to stand the silence from the man who had been babbling non-stop since he had started 'questioning' him about the recent mutant terrorist attack.

"I'm just trying to figure out how I'm supposed to disarm you since I really don't think Gibbs would be happy with me if I literally *dis-armed* you" DiNozzo answered continuing to stare at the middle blade Logan had waved in the agent's direction when he told the mutant he was under arrest.

Hah! This is awesome. I suppose he'd disarm him in the same way he'd disarm a martial artist, but I have no idea how he'd do that, either.

What is he arresting Logan for? My first thought is that it was just a bar fight. Maybe the marines who started it are now embarrassed that they got pounded by one guy and are now trying to say it was something more significant?

This sounds like a whole lot of fun. Would you want to write the plot about Gibbs' undercover position and the NCIS raid or would you want to write the plot about some other shifter-related case at NCIS after Kate is involved and have her discover the backstory?

I was planning on starting with Gibbs's undercover mission, then having a few shorts chapters showing Tony's time stuck, and then have Kate join and use that to reveal some of Tony's backstory. Very long and complicated probably. I have a lot of ideas it's just getting started is the tough part LOL

Yeah, the curse of the blank page. Only one way to get over it: start somewhere and start typing. Even if it's all awful and will be cut out later, it gets rid of that first blank page issue.
