I had forgotten all about how this started! Finn with the damn antlers and kissing Santana senseless under the mistletoe. Homeboy sure knows how to pick his moments, doe'n't he? I still loved Santana freaking out about it, but totally denying that she was freaking out about it. I love that the orgasm was her breaking point. I feel like that's totally accurate for her. Hahah!
I took a break from cleaning to read this. You are such a tease ending it there. I totally approve. I'm such a bitch about cliffhangers in my fics. I'm surprised people haven't set me on fire yet
( ... )
You're so cute with your fangirl icon and your cleaning breaks. :) Also, high five for cliffhanger bitchery. It's really the best.
Thanks for supporting/enabling me to post this, even though it's unfinished. I do love this story, so hopefully this will be some motivation to finish it. I'm really glad that you can hear Naya and Cory delivering the lines, because I think that's the most important part seeing as I rarely write stories that are in present day.
And fucking Puck...he just would, you know? He's such a bastard. A hot, hot, lovable bastard.
Yay! A new story! I already love the beginning and can't wait to see where this goes. Wish I could actually see Finn in antlers... adorable! And I love this song.. so perfect for Santana and this story! :)
Can't wait for the next update!
(FYI, I'm now having to re-read Burning Down the House because this chapter reminded me how much I love your writing. I know it's been a year or so but I'm still holding out hope for an update! :) )
Thanks for reading and reviewing! There actually is a picture of Cory wearing antlers at some event he was at with Mark and Amber. It was my inspiration, basically. ;)
It's so nice to hear that people love my writing and I do promise that I feel massive guilt for not having finished BDTH already. One day, one day. I swear. :)
Hope you continue to read and enjoy this little piece.
Hey friend! Coming out from under my first-week-of-school rock to tell you how very much I approve of you publishing this! I've read parts of this before, but it's been a while, and I'd forgotten how much I liked it! I really enjoy how effortlessly the background falls into place (Puck & Rachel, San's friendships, college and age, etc.) For that matter, Santana and Finn's names for each other, Chimi and Forrest kind of say it all about where they are at the start of the story.
Additionally, I enjoyed how irritated San is to not be able to get Finn Hudson out of her head. And then this picture that she's still trying to hold on to of that sophomore year motel room is finally gone somewhere around this point:
Finn puts the hat on her head and smoothes her hair back behind one ear. “You didn’t seem to mind the antlers when I was kissing you under the mistletoe,” he tells her in this quietly confident tone.
Thank you, friend, for the lovely comment! I was just tired of not posting things, so I broke my new rule of waiting until things were finished. I'm hoping it will motivate me to actually finish this. Hey, a girl can dream. ;)
I love this particular age for them because there's so much you can do, honestly. Santana is certainly not open to relationships, but she is open to sex, so sex with a friend is about as big of a deal as she can make right now. Pretty sure Finn will turn the tables on her, and I love imagining a world where Finn Hudson grows into a man capable of such things.
I think he's fantastically unassuming with his dimples and reindeer antlers and then--WHAM!--he kisses the life out of her. She doesn't hate it. ;)
Thanks again, Melanie! I hope work levels out for you.
