It's been over 3 months and I still don't know what to say when someone asks what's up with me. It always feels so melodramatic to tell people my father died, but it is the biggest thing that happened to me this year

The death of a parent is huge, N. I don't think you need to feel at all embarrassed that it's dominated your life this last few months.

May your father's memory be a blessing for you always.

I will read your entry about reengaging with Judaism with great interest whenever you have the leisure to write it.

It's something that feels like a priority for me as well, though I am far more like one of those crypto-Jews living in Central America than you are.
