This was a really interesting read with lots of cool pics.. Someday I'd like to go to India, though I like my modern conveniences too. What an experience though, I bet!!
You should definitely go, and it is pretty surprising how you sort of get used to certain things! Makes you appreciate home much more when you get back :D
Wow, the elephants are so lovely! I went to Tanzania in 2008, but didn't see that many elephants, and the ones I did see weren't very close :( That looks like it was such an amazing trip :) And yep, toilets which comprise of holes in the ground can take a lot of getting used to, eh? Hope you had the time of your life, it looks amazing :)
The African elephants are different aren't they? They have bigger ears apparently :D I really want to visit and African country too- bet that was amazing but really hot? At least it rained in India, so there were a couple of times where we managed to be cold :D
Yup, they are different, but I love all elephants anyway ^_^ It was very hot in the daytime, but all the Tanzanians were shivering, saying they were cold - it was about 30C! At night the temperatures dropped quite a bit, and it was particularly cold the nights we camped up on Ngorongoro Crater. Yep, it was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime trip :)
The thing I find fascinating is how big but gentle they are! We're pretty lucky they're not too violent or aren't really predators because they could do serious damage, but they just seem so docile and calm!
I always wondered how the men would go around in full suits and the women would cover up completely when we'd all just sit sweating so much. I wonder how long it takes to get used to a different climate though? And I've heard that- it must've been so weird to have hot days and cold nights.
That sounds like an amazing trip! And it's good that you were able to volunteer in a hospital; things like that can be real eye-openers. I'm a no-sugar-in-tea person too, so I don't think I could have coped with that! :P
It definitely was- the healthcare is just so different over there, and they have different common issues that affect people, so it was pretty interesting! Thank you- I think the elephant ride was one of the best experiences I had :D
