I have a Biology exam tomorrow and it's my last one. I'm pretty much prepared for it and I actually really want to get it over with so I can relax

Under-aged drinking happens in Canada a lot, too. Very under-aged. I was 14 the first time I got drunk. We used to put our bottles of beer in socks before stuffing them into our backpacks, so they wouldn't clink. Haha.
I agree... though my parents were always pretty relaxed about it, so I could drink at home (as an underaged kid) and never have worries. Ironically, at that time, I didn't like the taste of alcohol, go figure!
Maybe because of that relaxed attitude, when my tastes and circumstances changed and I moved out, I never had any particular desire to drink to get drunk, unlike a lot of my peers.
In the UK, we're always told on the news how we're a binge nation and how we're all going out and getting drunk and starting fights. They don't seem to have that in some European countries with younger drinking ages- or maybe we just don't hear about it!
It's really awesome that you've gotten to travel. I have never been outside of the US. So it musy be amazing to go to Rome. And you went to Egypt? That's amazing. I am hoping to go to Korea sometime next year...so exciting! =D
I think people travel in the UK more because we're such a tiny country! And it is very easy to fly to other European countries because they're so close! I imagine most flights out of the US are 6 hours+ unless you're going to Canada or South America.
But Korea sounds cool- I'd really love to go to Far East Asia- but that must be such a long flight!
Age limits are kindof crazy. I mean, what's the point? If a kid wants to drink, he's going to drink. At least let him/her buy it to drink it privately, without harassment. Anyone drinking should be totally liable for what they do of course, of any age.
Exactly- they really don't have any effect here- and isn't really something that's easy to enforce. They also go on about how they're going to raise the tax on alcohol but, again, that isn't going to stop most people because they'll just pay more or whatever.
True.. but it will raise revenue, which is probably the real point of doing it. I know for a while there, Canada was raising "sin" taxes every year or three, because they could get away with it... and people wouldn't grumble as much because it's in their control to be affected by it or not.. and with some people it'd give them a bit of smugness too.
Some people have told me that there's a road right next to them and a McDonald's but I still personally would love to see them- for the same reasons you say. I know there are holidays you can go on where you tour all the places like that.
My Dad gets really restless on holiday, and goes off to do sporty things- and I get annoyed because it can be hard to read in the sunlight. I've never been to Cyprus but it's supposed to be really lovely :)
