Wow the topic of religion really is put out there by White to say the least! Now lets look at Mrs Jolly and Miss Hare.

MRS JOLLY= a hard core Anglican Church goer, that seems more interested in how religious other people PERCEIVE her to be, as opposed to being religious off her own accord. White here in a sense is attacking the institution of the ( Read more... )

I really like your post Kath, a really good summary of the 2 charcacters. I have to agree that faith is a 'feeling' and your explanation of that was really good.

You made some good points Kath, I get frustrated when people assume that all church goers are like Mrs Jolley. I am a member of the Anglican church just like her, but I don't go so that I look good, I go so that I can worship God with other people who have similar beliefs to me.

Cheer girls.
But i know what you mean Clare about going to Church. People tend to automatically think you're some kind of bible fanatic! I know when people hear I'm going to be teaching "religion" they take a step back haha.

Good to see you being very open minded... (Blake having a real influence here)... about what we define as religion.... in its original meaning it simply meant "to connect"... human with the divine??
