Why would they name a gum "Stride"?

Examining the free gum they gave me at the movie theater, I wonder -- does anyone still make gum with sugar in it?

The Descent was pretty good but will probably be the last horror movie I see for some time. I get nightmares.

FOODZ:
Gigantic tasty cheeseburger & fries from Cheesecake Factory. And this gum.

I actually was chewing that gum last night whilst watching Stan Lee's Who Wants to be a Superhero (so, so, so wonderful, btw). And Pimp My Car. And some infomercials.

I got tired of chewing before I ran out of flavor. What is this magical technology?
