Trip - way to much excitement

So last Thursday I took my mother and her boyfriend to NC to see my brother and his family.  I have been looking forward to seeing him for some time.  I used to see him a few times a year but since my back was injured this year this is the first time in over 18 months. The trip usually takes my 7-8 hours.  This time it took 12 to get there.  I

Insurance is not going to pay. I called and asked about the uninsured coverage I have and they said that because it was hit and run that they could not prove the other drive was not insurred so all deductables apply and my insurance will go up because of it. I called a couple other insurance companys (Geico and American Family) and both said this is standard.

This is why I think that car insurance is completely useless. Because the state requires drivers to have it, insurance companies can do whatever the hell they want and get away with it. =P
