Ohmigod, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince rocks so hard!!!
Spoilers ahead...
First of all... EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! *squees uncontrollably* Draco has SUCH a starring role in this book!
In the beginning, I LOVED the Narcissa chapter... it showed how much she adored Draco, her husband... the close bonds in their family. Later on, when Draco was so fearful about how his family would be in danger if he didn't obey Voldemort, I was also mentally squeeing over the family love. So sweet!!!
Then, when it was mentioned that a boy was crying in the toilet, I was already thinking "Draco!!!" And I felt so sorry for him! *pets poor crying Draco* He's so stressed! Poor baby.
And HOW OBSESSED is Harry? Heh heh. Always peering at the map for Draco. The only one noticing how worn out and worried Draco looked. He talked about Draco so much his friends tuned him out! *laughs and laughs*
And at the end, ohmigod. I was stunned when Severus killed Dumbledore. I never thought he was the half-blood prince because I thought the book belonged to someone 50 years ago. Thinking back, it could have belonged to his mother. I was so super shocked. I really thought he belonged to the good side.
And when Draco couldn't bring himself to kill his headmaster! *squees and hugs Draco tightly* That was such a turning point!!! I really thought he might have switched to the good side. He's only 16! And trying to keep himself and his family alive! Poor, stressed baby.
So yep, I love HBP a lot more than the previous book.
And the image of Crabbe and Goyle as little girls? Precious.
The only thing I didn't like were the relationships. The Harry/ Ginny one felt very soap-opera like... the kissing after the quidditch win was so manufactured. The Lupin/ Tonks one felt weird as well. It's like JKR wrote the book, realised there were no relationships and decided to throw in those.
