Pretty good day yesterday. First, on the way to class an editor from the Daily Texan called me to say she liked the article I submitted so much she was going to run it and hire me as a columnist. for the record: you're so awesome. you should send me all of your columns because i will eagerly read them all.

some grad-school-y topics that may be of use for column fodder:

-Grad students who left their undergrad institutions vs. the ones who stayed (and how they differ)
-How to support your local female engineer (woot woot!) and other women's groups on campus... pros and cons?
-How to revolutionize your lab (stuff i've done to BiD includes starting a food coop, business cards, brochures, a "pub hub" where everyone posts recent publications, rearrange the furniture, etc.) How to instigate change!
-Hidden Gems on campus (among them at Berkeley is the $10 fee per semester for a gym membership... which includes the fancy schmancy marble swimming pool that uses bromine, not chlorine!)

... that's what i can think of offhand. but yes. if you ever end up with writer's block, gimme a call and we'll think of stuff :D
