PERFECTION
Monday night, it was woodsmoke on the wind and my first siting of the Pleides in months. Tonight the rainscrubbed horizon revealed Orion as well, making my heart sing while an owl took up the chorus deep in the woods behind me. It just took me about two hours to pin the 258 cities I've been to (or thru)in 17 countries on the Trip Advisor map on Facebook. Seemed like a lot until I zoomed out and saw how much more of the world I have yet to explore. I feel both blessed and humbled ( Read more... ) -
WEIRD
Wednesday night between 2 and 2:30a.m. walking thru the dark house to the bedroom I was shocked when the right side of my face abruptly smacked into the door frame. Yowch!!! Hurricane update
Lest I unduly alarm anyone, I wrote the previous post yesterday and the predictions for Austin County have improved. Ike is expected to go further northeast which will spare us the worst of the hurricane force winds. We may be topping out here closer to 74 mph in Narnia, where we're utilizing the best of our boy and girl scout talents to make this ( Read more... )
