So. I thought this was a pretty good episode. Unfortunately that was overshadowed by the fact that it made me angry on many, many levels.
1) Where the fuck was Elyan. Seriously. He's Gwen's brother. Did he not even help her pack? Even if he didn't leave with her (cause he has responsibilities in Camelot as a knight, I guess), he could have helped her move her things out of the city and find somewhere else to live. That's what family is for. And isn't he, I dunno, angry with Arthur? Or with Gwen? He is her brother why do the writers keep forgetting this holy shit.
2) I was so squicked by some of the Gwen/Lancelot scenes. I mean I guess it was meant to be creepy but I just found it so... ick.
3) Gwen kissed Lancelot. Kissed him. Once. I don't think that even constitutes adultery, especially as they weren't married yet. The fuck, Arthur. Calm down. (And his angry yelling made me laugh and it was very uncomfortable.) Even without the spell, Gwen's reasons for being drawn to Lancelot made perfect sense. If Arthur can 'never trust her again', maybe he didn't trust her all that much to begin with, because it was one kiss (I guess maybe he was obviously a pre-planned meeting since they were hiding in the council chamber at night, but still).
4) Furthermore, no-one saw Gwen and Lancelot kissing other than Arthur, Agravaine, and Merlin... so why did Arthur tell the rest of the court? It's not like he was automatically 'humiliated'. He could have kept things quiet. He trusts Merlin and Agravaine not to tell (and yeah, we as viewers wouldn't put it past Agravaine to start spreading rumours, but Arthur doesn't know that). He could have, y'know, not told the whole court and dealt with it himself.
5) I want to punch Arthur right now. Tell me I am not the only one who wants to punch Arthur right now.
