It's warm! Not just a hint of warmth, but WARM!! Temps in the high-70s to mid-80s, depending on where in town you are. And tomorrow's supposed to be much the same!!!! My muscles have stopped clenching against the cold and I can't help but feel wonderful ( Read more... )

Whadyamean, "trunk novel"? If you're working at it, however slowly, it's not lying abandoned in a trunk.

(I'd commiserate about setting's serving, but I just confirmed I can do what I'd hoped to in my current historical setting, and I've no doubt that if I attempted sympathy, with or without mentioning that, you would Have To Hurt Me. So I won't.)

True, but realistically, I figure this one as a first novel is destined fro the trunk. :-) It's the novel of the heart, for practice.

Congratulations. Just because I'm miserable, is no reason I wouldn't wish others happy for not having this problem. :-)

If it's not in the trunk yet, it's not yet a trunk novel. So sez Uncle Larry, attempting to channel Red Mike.

LOL! Yes, sir. Unfortunately right now it looks like it's a non-existent novel as the lack of hotels changes so much I've already written in my head over the past six to nine months that I don't know if it's fixable. May be easier to start over with an entirely new story. I'm having to do major thinking on it.

(Hotels have different rules/customs than boarding houses, and that really matters in what I had planned.)

I'm so jealous about the warmth. It's been chilly here, but more importantly, it's been raining, cloudy, overcast, miserable, dark -- you get the idea.

Well, we're supposed to get the tail end of that Thursday, with a 20-degree drop in temperature, so I'm only able to relish the warmth for two days.

My sympathies. It's one of the many reasons I love it here.

Okay, bucking for being hit here, but I saw a Sears ad on TV for a "Winter Sale" and my immediate reaction was, "Winter? Should they be using a commercial that old?" I forgot for a moment that it's still February. :-)

I think we may have rain for our whole conv. *boo hiss*

I spent a 3 hour train ride reading back issues of the TEL Society newsletter...and reading about the Symposium in Sept. I REALLY want to go.

Going by finances, I'd guess it's highly unlikely I'll make it to the U.K. for that symposium. *sigh* But I'll look forward to your report on it.

Sympathies on the rain. We're cooling off 20 or more degrees come Thursday, for the next week at least. This is simply a brief glimpse of Spring. A glimpse I treasure. :-)

Yeah...based on finances and work time I shouldn't go either. It says you can still sign up in Sept. so I'll see. Hopefully the one in 2006 will be just as good. *g*

We can hope. And maybe it'll be closer?
