I'd ^think try to find charities where you can have the most effect for the money you give. For example where giving food can really save lives.
I'd also give some to people I know who are in financially critical situations.

What I'd Do ... Dan Brady anonymous September 12 2009, 17:56:24 UTC
With a million? Well, I'd take care of those things my family needs first, but that wouldn't take much, not even a tenth of the amount. Then, spiraling outward, I'd see what I could do for my extended family, friends, neighbors and the school I work for. I don't think I'd get through all that and have anything left but the idea would be to personally apply the benefits to the greatest effect where I could see how it works out. I'd be learning as I go so there'd be waste, of course, but the effort and aim would be worth it.

I hope you are well, my dear, travel safely and keep on doing your angelic best in this world.

Dan

The "there would be waste" thing. That is so often a learning process, i think so too.... I often give something and then later think, oh, I could have acted more wisely... friends tell me sometimes not to be so naive and assume that everyone tells the truth... but it is difficult sometimes... A friend of mine, who is herself poor, told me she learned not to look back and beat herself up over the things she gave "unwisely", because what counts is that it came from the heart...

Hello Dan,
looks like the postcard took quite a while! I've been back in Switzerland for over two weeks now.
Yes I am ok... lots on my mind sometimes...
