Since the last time I'd written about the Hugo awards I've been catching up. So, putting together a list of all my 2010 novels read, my nominations as of right now look something like:

1. Super Sad True Love Story, Gary Shteyngart
2. Surface Detail, Banks
3. Terminal World, Alastair Reynolds
4-5:  Still Deciding...[possibly The Magicians [edit: 2009 ( Read more... )

My favorite story of 2010 is William Preston's "Helping Them Take The Old Man Down". Not a novel though.

I liked that one too. I have to go through my Asimovs, etc., to think about story nominations. This is somewhat harder, since I'm probably reading 50% of my short stories online.

There IS good stuff online. I've been finding excellent fiction over at web-based fantasy magazine "Beneath Ceaseless Skies".
