PSA / research update: fasting before chemotherapy may help
Back in April of 2008 I noted an interesting preliminary study on the beneficial effects of fasting before chemotherapy.
The background in short is that normal cells tend to go into dormancy when an organism fasts, while cancer cells tend to never shut their metabolism down.

Making 2010, my resolution.
It's that time when people talk about resolutions. Part of me wants to avoid them: why follow the crowd? why use a mental structure that is tough to accomplish*?

While reading about muscle tissue evolution in humans I paused to go look up which ACTN3 genotype I have.
Within the next few years a Firefox plug-in will give you your genotype for any gene mentioned online--like Reflect, but linked to your own data.
