Solid ground is a misnomer. They could be on a bridge over open water, on a skyscraper, on a tall pointy thingy like a radio tower... ;)

true. she does have her eyes closed at that point, so it just feels like ground. but perhaps a few more descriptive words would go well here.

LOL I hope you didn't take that the wrong way. I was excited at trying to guess where they could be since they 'went higher' than it was which lead me to expect it's on top of something, maybe even a hill or something.

I thought you were clever w/ leaving it so blase'. It adds suspense!
