On Tuesday I walked to Devil's Bridge. It's somewhere between 12 and 15 miles away from Aber. I walked there! It was really cool. One of the "Adventure 100" challenges for Guides was to plan a walk to somewhere you'd never been before. So Doug (the new SSAGO President) and I thought it would be great to go all out and walk to Devil's Bridge and see the waterfalls. It took us six hours and twenty minutes to get there though, so actually we didn't have time to see the waterfalls before we had to get on the train home! So I'll have to go back again. It sounds pretty good though, and our trip was great so it would be well worth going again. I got a bit sunburnt and my feet hurt like crazy by the end though!

From Wednesday to Friday I spent most of my time filling out application forms or writing CVs for jobs. There isn't very much available in Aber at the moment, which sucks. I've applied for like ten jobs and only heard back from one, and they said I have what they're looking for, but they're not going to take me! How very useful.

Nicky and I also went to look at a house on Wednesday, thinking that we might rent it. It was really nice, except for that the second bedroom was quite small (not really big enough for a double bed), and it was unfurnished and six miles out of Aber. We've thought of plenty of ways to get round both of those problems, but I just didn't feel right about it so we're not going to go for it. It's a bit worrying though, we've only got a month left to look! And again, there isn't much available.

Yesterday I spent most of the day on the train, so I am now back in Wycombe. If anyone is around and feels like meeting up that would be good :-) Though I know you're probably all still quite busy with uni stuff. I would also really like a shopping trip into London sometime while I'm down here, so if anyone can't make it back to Wycombe but could make it to London, that would also be good. I don't think I'll be able to get to London very often after this, since I won't live anywhere near it any more!

So today I got mum to get some of my old school "paperwork" down from the loft, and I've spent the day sorting through it, first trying to decide what year each bag/box is from, and then which bits I want to keep. It's really hard! I thought I'd be able to easily identify the bits I remembered and keep them, and throw the rest of it away. But I keep finding bits that I don't remember, but are funny or interesting or whatever, so I don't want to get rid of them. And also my school years were a bit weird; my reception class and year one only took up one year, and I did year 3 twice. So I have loads and loads of stuff from year 3, but I don't know which year 3. So I've actually only gone through years 2, 4 and 5 properly so far.

Humm. I think that's most of what I've done this week.

Oh yeah, and I'm now living in John's bedroom. It feels weird as hell. I don't like it. Everything's in the wrong place, and I keep trying to go through the wrong door when I go upstairs.

And I now (as of Friday), have internet in my flat in Aber. The day before I go home, of course.
