Here We Go Again Chapter Six
"Stop it, Thomas," Liza snapped from over her shoulder as she walked across the dock and went to sit with Angie and Chelsea at the Lifeguard's bench.
"Come on!" Thomas was following Liza as she walked and his hands were out in a pleading sort of fashion. "I've got to have something to tell Marcus when he asks about this at Lunch today! Why can't you give me anything?"
Liza rolled her eyes and sat on her towel, which was spread out just next to the bench. "Because, I don't believe you!"
"What's this all about?" Angela leaned over her armrest and glanced down at Liza, who had begun to dig something from her bag.
Thomas was just settling down beside her, and he responded before his friend could, "Marcus says that one of his friends in the lower CITs thinks Liza is cute, and he wants to know if she thinks he's cute, too-"
" - And I think Thomas is making this up."
Angie cocked an eyebrow and looked over to Chelsea, her gaze clearly asking for some explanation. "Don't look at me," Chelsea remarked. "She's not my CIT."
"You know," Angela turned her head back to the kids on the towel. Liza was focusing on a string lanyard she had started in Art that day, "for seventeen-year-olds, that's a little immature. Why doesn't he ask her himself?"
"John is nineteen, actually," Thomas replied and shrugged. "I guess he's just going through me and Marcus because he knows we're already friends." His attention turned back to Liza, and he pointed toward her lanyard, "You missed a stitch, right there. And come on! Do you think he's cute or not? That's the only question we're asking right now; it's totally innocent!"
"Hey, Thomas," Liza gave the boy a pointed look as her fingers skillfully went about unstitching her lanyard without her even glancing at it, "do you think Marcus is cute?"
Thomas glared. "You're absolutely right; we should change the subject. Hey, Chelsea, how's David? I heard you and Sebastien talking about him earlier." Liza looked over to Chelsea and agreed that she would like to know as well.
Amused by the obvious change in subject, and very curious, Angela turned to Chelsea and smirked. "David? Who's David?" She gave Chelsea a nudge with her elbow.
Chelsea simply laughed and pulled the sunglasses down from atop her head. "David is Sebastien's boyfriend." Just before placing the sunglasses on her nose, Angela caught her rolling her eyes. "David's fine, kids. He's coming for a visit next week, I think."
"Is he, really?" Liza sat up straighter, a huge grin on her lips. "Oh! I can't wait!"
Thomas sat up as well. "Sebastien was telling Landon that he was trying to convince Director Shaw to let him stay overnight. Do you know what happened with that?"
"And let his boyfriend stay with him in his bunk with all the campers around?" Angela sounded shocked, but there was a hint of teasing to her voice. "That doesn't sound likely."
"Maybe they could trade bunks with Pierre for the night!" Liza grinned.
"Yeah," Thomas supported his friend's suggestion, "it's not like Pierre gets much constructive use out of it. He, like, never sees Chuck anymore."
"Hey!" Chelsea laughed and shook her head, "Be nice. They're at the pool together now."
"Wait," Angela glanced around at the people around her. They were all laughing together, and she couldn't help the feeling of wanting to laugh as well, although she had no clue what the joke was. "Who's at the pool together?"
With a dismissive tone, Chelsea answered, "Pierre and Chuck; they've been dating since last year. Didn't you know that?"
Liza couldn't keep her giggle hidden as Thomas piped up, "It took them long enough!"
Completely flabbergasted, Angela looked between the three of them. "You're kidding, aren't you?"
"No, way!" Liza burst out. "We waited all summer for them to admit it, but we all knew - I was there the first night they kissed!"
Thomas pushed Liza by the shoulder. "Stop bragging! I'm still mad I missed that - "
The CITs on the ground began play-hitting one another, and Angela turned to watch over the lake. "They waited all summer to see them kiss?" She asked in an offhandedly-amused voice.
"Oh, yeah," Chelsea laughed and adjusted her sunglasses. "They shared a bunk and they were friends and all, but all summer long the entire Sixteens level" - she gestured to the still-quarreling CITs - "was trying to get them to hook up." She laughed and added as an afterthought, "They even made them kiss during a Spin the Bottle game once, and Chuck wasn't even playing! At one point in the game, Pierre had to kiss Sebastien, but that wasn't near as exciting for those kids."
"Really?" This was all news to Angela. In the weeks that they had been at camp already, she had never gotten the impression from Pierre that he was gay - nor Chuck, for that matter, although she never paid more attention to Chuck than she had to. That one counselor, Sebastien, he was pretty obvious; aside from the ever-present repartee he had going with Chelsea, there was just something about his presence that screamed, "Boobs don't do it for me." But, Pierre - couldn't be! He was athletic and he was constantly flirting - he was certainly the straightest gay man Angela had ever met.
"Mhmm." Chelsea pointed to a pair of campers that were swimming close to the rope barrier around the lake, but before there was a need for the whistle, they backed off. "Yeah. At the end of the season they admitted that they were, in fact, dating - or interested in one another - or something; can't really remember. But this season Sebastien's been clear with informing me that they are definitely a couple." She took this moment to lean over, a smirk on her lips as she whispered confidential information that was just a bit too scandalous for the CITs to hear, "I think it was only once," she started, "but I've been told that Chuck's even spent the night in Pierre's cabin."
Angela's eyes shot open and she gasped. "What?"
With the smirk still on her face, Chelsea merely nodded. From the ground, Thomas and Liza looked confused and very interested. "I'm just saying what I heard," Chelsea held up her hands in a mock defense. "I don't know any facts about anything."
"What happened?" Liza practically whined. "We can handle it, whatever it is!"
"With the pout that's on your face, you look a little immature to handle it," Chelsea teased.
"Well, Angie looks like she might faint, whatever it was!" Thomas threw out.
Sure enough, Angela still had a total look of shock on her face. Chelsea and Liza burst out laughing.
With his head leaning back against the edge of the pool, the skin on the back of Chuck's neck was probably getting shredded to bits, but that was not a cause for concern at the present moment. Besides, who really looked at the back of his neck? Sure, the scratches would sting for a while, but they would be fine. And - oh, God - they were so worth it. Chuck clenched his eyes shut and his hands gripped the cement edge of the pool tighter. At this rate, his elbows and biceps might end up with scratches as well, but Chuck knew this wasn't going to go on much longer, anyway.
His breath hitched and his palms scraped the cement roughly as Chuck grunted and tightened his arm muscles. He lifted himself out of the water - his shoulder blades would be howling at him in the morning - quickly and just slightly and thrust his hips forward as he came. Chuck dropped his hands into the water and slumped down against the wall. Thank God they were in the shallow end or else he might have been liable to sink all the way to the bottom of the pool in his dazed, post-climactic state.
Pierre's head surfaced while Chuck was still collecting himself, and Pierre took that moment to do the same, wiping the water from his face and chest rising and falling slowly to regain his breath. He coughed and shook his head in an attempt to make the water fall out of his ears, but before he accomplished much, Chuck had his hand clapped around the back of Pierre's neck and he pulled Pierre in for a deep kiss.
Their embrace only lasted a second before Pierre pushed himself back and coughed again. "Hey, what are you trying to do, kill me? I've still got to breathe!"
"Breathe later," Chuck muttered and pulled Pierre in again.
Unable and not really caring to do anything else, Pierre wrapped his arms around Chuck's shoulders and accepted the kisses. After his breath was mostly caught back, Pierre grinned and spoke between their heated kisses, but didn't dare break their hold. "What has gotten into you tonight?"
Chuck just shook his head and laughed. "Nothing's gotten into me." He reached a hand down farther in the water and gave Pierre's backside a generous squeeze. "It just feels like we never get to see each other anymore."
Laughing, Pierre gently pushed Chuck back against the wall and created just a bit of space between the two of them. It was already very late. They had spent all their time tonight swimming in the pool, it was only as Chuck was deciding to leave for the night that they had meant to say goodbye but ended up with Pierre demonstrating just how talented he was at holding his breath.
"That's because we don't," Pierre smirked and kissed Chuck again, but made sure to keep a particular distance between them. "But that's okay. We make due." They shared a smile and another kiss. "Come on. You should get to bed."
"And just leave you for the night?" Chuck made it sound as though he would be committing some sort of heinous crime if he didn't return the favor.
"When you're at the Archery range tomorrow and Landon manages more bull's eyes because you're so tired, you'll just come back to yell at me," Pierre laughed. He placed his hands on the edge of the pool and hoisted himself out.
While Chuck took his time in pulling himself out of the water, he noticed a sharp feeling in his shoulders, but ignored it when he saw Pierre walking toward him. In his hands, Pierre was holding Chuck's towel out, he had already wrapped his own towel around his waist.
Chuck took the towel and smiled, "Thank you." He leaned in to kiss Pierre and before his hands could touch his hips, Pierre made sure to back away.
"You need to go to sleep," he prodded with a laugh and went to retrieve his iPod.
"And you need to get laid," Chuck shot back with a smirk.
Pierre shook his head and the two made their way down toward Chuck's cabin. When they got to where the Sixteens Boys cabins were located, they could see that the counselor on watch that night-Sebastien, in this case-had already turned in. They went up to Chuck's bunk and found it strange to notice that the light inside was turned on. Chuck unlocked the door and let them in.
They were greeted with Sebastien's chuckles from where he lay on Chuck's bed. "Hey, he did come back tonight!"
Laughing, Pierre went over to Chuck's bed and jumped on top of Sebastien. He squeezed his friend in a tight hug while Chuck went over to his dresser and Landon just laughed from across the room.
"What are you guys doing awake? Your campers are going to go crazy tomorrow." Pierre shook his head and fought to keep Sebastien pinned.
"Landon will explain it," Chuck indicated Landon from across the room and then headed into the closet. He had a dry pair of shorts in his hands and he closed the door behind himself so that he could change in private.
With a raised eyebrow, Pierre looked to Landon and finally let Sebastien loose. The two sat on their own ends of the bed. "It's supposed to rain like crazy tomorrow, right?" Pierre and Sebastien nodded. "Well," Landon leaned back against his pillow with a smug grin, "we'll just be assigned to specific locations all day. It's totally easy to watch the campers on days like that. It'll be fine."
"So, you guys are just going to slack tomorrow," Pierre asked and smiled when Chuck came walking out of the closet with the shorts on, but he was still shirtless.
"Pretty much," Sebastien smiled and nodded his head. He looked to each of his friends, and his eyes stopped curiously as he saw Chuck trying to find the armholes of his T-shirt. "Oh!" Sebastien sat up excitedly and ran up behind Chuck, his eyes were clearly focused on the scratch marks that had created nice little patterns over Chuck's shoulder blades. "I didn't know you guys liked rough sex!" Sebastien was positively beaming while the other three just stared with bemusement. "Do you want to borrow mine and David's handcuffs sometime?"
Landon groaned his annoyance and shoved his face into his pillow. "Sebastien, maybe you should go back to your bunk now."
"Come on, I'm trying to help you out here!"
"No, it's late," Pierre stood up and put his hands on Sebastien's shoulders. "We should both be going."
With that, Pierre steered Sebastien toward the door of the bunk and Chuck followed them, ready to bid his boyfriend goodnight. Sebastien stepped out the door first and waited just at the bottom of the step.
"I'll see you tomorrow," Pierre smiled and he gave Chuck a quick peck on the lips. "Once I can get all our pool stuff done, I'll come find you guys. We don't really have all that much to take care of. It'll be like spending the day together."
Chuck laughed. "Like old times, huh?"
"Sure," Pierre nodded and then went down to walk with Sebastien over to his bunk, all the while dodging Sebastien's offers to tell him where to get the best toys.
