wsilver jews: how has your writing changed from when it was just you guys leaving thirty second songs on people's answering machines to a more established group of people (obviously, stephen malkmus)? in the writing process, is the same element of spontaneity involved, or is there a bigger role of the individual instead of the collective?

jens lekman: what do you think of america?

glenn kotche: what are your views on your role in wilco, or percussionists in general? do you adhere to a certain guideline of standard drum writing techniques or play towards the song?

don't name drop stephen malkmus if you are interviewing david berman- it might insult him. dude does most of the writing anyway, just people love pavement so goddamn much that that's how they end up finding the silver jews.

ask him about stephen malkmus. also, call the silver jews a pavement side project once or twice.
