Ambient Fail

I have been taking Ambient to help me sleep for about three weeks now.  I don't like the idea of it so on the weekends I try not to take it.  I figure I can get in a nap if I need one ( Read more... )

I am not an expert on Ambien, however my understanding is that one of its purposes is to help reset your sleep cycle. And in order to accomplish this, you need to take it regularly, EVERY night. So, check around if you like because I'm not 100% sure on this, but it's possible that stopping it on weekends is hindering the Ambien's ability to do its job, and may mean you end up taking it for a more extended period of time overall.

And there is hope - one of my friends who was on Ambien said it totally worked to reset her sleep cycle and now she doesn't need it anymore unless her cycle gets messed up again.

Arovd is absolutely correct, honey. You have to take the meds every night to maintain the therapeutic level and to allow it to correct your sleep cycle.
