That really does suck though...very strange too...it's not like the tips affect the company. Since you did agree when you took the job that your compensation would be hourly wages plus tips, you could call HR about the matter. You could even call HR about them making you stay to do a job that wasn't yours (re-stocking magazines), especially since, in theory, you were never "trained" to be a bookseller. Where are you going to be working once you leave Borders?
