I just make this off the top of my head, I don't really follow a recipie per'se, but here goes 1-2 lbs ground beef or turkey (browned) 1 large onion chopped and sauteed (I buy frozen chopped onions to make it easier) 2 tsp worstershire sauce salt 1/3 cup red chili powder a little garlic 2 cans tomato sauce 1 can stewed tomatoes 1 can tomato puree 2 cans dark red kidney beans (drained)
brown the beef/turkey and onions and throw everything in the crockpot. I put it on high the first hour, then on low for another 7-8 hours, the longer it cooks the better it tastes, and the next day it tastes even better (don't know why but after it has been refridgerated it is even yummier!) You can cook it as long as you want, even as little as 5 hours, but I like the meat to be really tender so I tend to go on the long side. Enjoy! I serve mine with greated cheddar cheese and sour cream :) Alorah likes her with fishie crackers. Levi likes his plain.
