ummmmmmmmm if there's an icon that i want to make my own and it's animated so it only saves as .bmp (which LJ won't take), how do i get it as a userpic?

open it in paint, then save as a different type of file. the end!

but it's animated and if i do that then it doesn't animate anymore.

When you save it, type it as myicon.jpg(for still) or myicon.gif(for animated) and it'll automatically change it.

The only animated types of files that LJ will take are .gif and your program might not be able to save as that. There are tons of free programs online that let you save .gif files.

If you save it as an animated GIF then it'll work.
I use Adobe ImageReady, just open it up in something like that [animation program] and save it as a GIF [or animated GIF]
