A Zellers story

Look at me go... two updates in two days! I have a crazy Zellers story... check it out. But be warned... it's long! Also a comment about our residence placement in there too!

This lady came to my line, and I rang in all her stuff. She was wearing this awful, low cut dress and crazy red lipstick... some of the other cashiers said she sometimes comes in wearing a coat and nothing else... apparently she's been in before. She sloooooowly gets out her debit card and her HBC Rewards card and hands them to me. I swipe the debit card, and tell her to go to the end to use the machine. So she gives me a look, and moves down... she hits "OK" and then "CANCEL"! So I nicely tell her it didn't work, and she'll have to do it again. So she takes her card and starts trying to jam it in the wrong spot... so I show her where to swipe it and she does it. Then, she hits "OK" and "CANCEL" again! So now I'm realizing she's a little crazy, and tell her that she has to do it again to enter her pin number for her debit card. She starts yelling at me that it's a BANK CARD... and she can barely speak English so I figure she has no idea what I was telling her... I tried to explain that it wasn't a credit card, it was a debit card, and she had to enter her pin number so the money could come out of her account. Then she grabs her Rewards card back, looks at both of them and tells me to take the numbers out while pointing to her debit card and the debit machine... so I thought she wanted to pay with cash or something. Then she tosses her Rewards card at me and I tell her it's just her Rewards card, she has to pay for her purchase first. Then she starts yelling at me about how she doesn't want a Rewards card and she doesn't need one... so I start to tell her that I'm not trying to give her one, she already has one... and as I'm talking she grabs her bags and starts walking out! Luckily my supervisor, Frances, was close by so I could call her over... we both chased her out into the parking lot and called her back but she ignored us completely! So we let her go (remember she was angry... Fran and I weren't about to get into a fight over $52.19 of stolen merchandise!) As I was writing down a description of her for the supervisors to give to the police, a couple other customers came over and asked if we were looking for her. Apparently they saw us follow her out and saw her go into the variety store that is just on the other side of the parking lot. So two supervisors went over to the variety store and told her that she didn't pay for her stuff so she had to give it back... I don't know what else happened there. When she walked out I still had her Rewards card so they were able to look up her name and address from it. I think they're going to give it to the police tomorrow.

In other news... we got our residence information today... I got a single in Glengarry, the big apartment building. I'm guessing you got a single too Franny? I'm kind of disappointed we didn't get a house! Hopefully it will work out okay... I already got an email from one of our suitemates, Bevin, and she sounds really nice. I wonder what floor we're on? It's the 12 storey building...

That's all for now folks... I MISS YOU GUYS!
