job market :(

I got refused to be a live-in nanny this morning. EVERYWHERE that's hiring wants someone with 2-5 years of concurrent recent experience, whether it's waitressing, hosting, geology, teaching, babysitting... it's so maddening. How the hell am I supposed to get experience without the chance to get experience!? CAITLIN MAD!

You know, 70 percent of jobs are found through people you already know! I know it's no fun, but just talk to everyone, and I mean everyone, you know. Tell them you'd like to catch up, and then mention your job hunt. I know I'm on Craigslist at least four hours a day...so I'm not taking my own advice here, but it works. I hope that helps. I got two jobs that I had no previous experience with just by networking. I hope that helps.
