Wow. This kid on DM just started a post about this disease called Trichtotillomania. It's when you have the compelling urge to pull your hair out. From any place. And I used to do this ALOT when I was a kid. It's kind of hard to imagine me, Mrs. Hair Priss, ripping out chunks of hair from my head ( Read more... )

I know someone who used to, or still may (I'm not entirely certain; it's a private matter). Either way, it's a hard habit to break.

Child psychology - very strange. I don't even think children are quite the same people as adults. But that's a different topic entirely.

Yea. I think I just kinda stopped doing it one day. I think I may have done it every once in a while after, like when I was stressed or something. I think alot of it had to do with dealing with my dad and feeling inadequate and stuff. Or something.

And yea, it is very strange, child psychology.

You're oh-so-very welcome. ^_^

David Manasco's sister does it. Thats why she wears a wig. She would pull out her hair and eat it without realizing what she was doing.

Aww... I always wondered why she had the wig. I always thought she had cancer or something. Poor thing.

I know she's got all kinds of health problems.

I never ate my hair after pulling it out, though, so maybe I didn't have this disorder.

I would rub my nails in between my teeth, on my gums- until they'd bleed. I also did a lot of weird things but that was the most destructive.
