Objectively speaking, I get that I'm weird, all right?  You don't need to worry about that.  Over the last couple weeks, though, I think I've finally figured out a new reason why.  And this one's a bit stranger than usual- because it's so obvious.

See, it turns out that I'm tall.

Wow! That's facinating! But it totally makes sense the way you explain it here - how you grew up and relate to guys. Thanks for sharing your insights!

I imagine I'd be different if I was one of those girls who was average height until puberty and then just had a hell of a growth spurt. Or if I had spent any time confined to a wheelchair. But as it is... yeah, guys are no more or less frightening than girls, and thanks to a weird variety of scary people in my childhood, size really doesn't matter in this case, either. :) I can't even imagine what it would be like to spend my life shorter than half the people around me. That would just be weird.
