42- and oh yes, theodicy

So I was skimming through "When Bad Things Happen to Good People"  again (and I hope I don't need to tell you it's a good book) and I was contemplating the thought of discussing Theodicy with the fictional Dr. Rodney McKay, and I came up with, what I think might be a new, or at least not nearly as ex- of an ex-horse, concept to answer the problem ( Read more... )

If you haven't yet, I recommend reading "The Shack" by William Young. It's a good book that talks a lot about creation and evil in the world. Human brokenness is a really big theme. While I didn't 100% agree with the book, its concepts are good to think about.

Actually, I currently have it out from the library- it's next on my list after "Rebecca". I'm going to be stunned if it outclasses "A Grief Observed" by CS Lewis or "Lucky" by Alice Sebold, though. Or, for that matter, the Worthing Saga.
