I do super-slow weight training with joyous_tiger about once a week. It hasn't done much for losing weight as such, but I've gained a bunch of muscle, and its got an air of science (how can we bring your muscles consistently and completely to failure and beyond) and efficiency (in terms of time) that appeals to me. Kind of expensive, but when I pay for personal training I'm paying for expertise, but I get motivation for free :).

Oh, and regardless of how much weight you've gained, as someone who hasn't seen you in years I almost didn't recognize you based on how skinny you've gotten, so you've still gone 10 steps forward, even if you then went 3 steps back.
